After years of steady growth, the Mazloum Group as a parent company has over 3000 employees and over 35 showrooms in Cairo and Alexandria and throughout Egypt. With over 150 suppliers, it buys from all over the world: tiles and assorted construction materials from Spain, Italy, China, the UAE, Germany; steel from the Ukraine, Turkey, local manufacturers in Egypt; furniture from Europe and the US, with a few models from local designers in Egypt.
The decision is taken to establish a new company, Mazloum Lights, combining innovative lighting design and creation and the showcasing, marketing and sale of high-end furniture and goods for the home. The new company has its own logo, brand identity and an array of new lighting designs.
Mazloum Home undergoes concerted expansion efforts, a combination of organic evolution and deliberate strategy. It expands from having one or two factories in Europe that it buys from to having ten to fifteen steady suppliers. It consolidates the relationships established with its principle Italian suppliers, namely Natuzzi Editions and Alf Italia. A clear focus is placed on marketing to Egyptian customers, so that appreciation of the quality offered by Mazloum Home grows. Customer loyalty keeps increasing and the reputation of Mazloum Home spreads through word of mouth.
Mazloum Home establishes showrooms in strategic locations throughout Cairo, particularly targeting shopping malls such as CityStars. This strategy will later lead to Mazloum Home having a total of eleven showrooms and shops in locations such as Zamalek, Cairo Festival City and Galleria 40.
